She has litigated and settled many cases involving workers who were misclassified by their employers as exempt from overtime or labeled as âindependent contractorsâ and denied wages and other employment benefits. She has won motions against large corporations, and consistently advocates for interpretations of the law that advance the rights of all workers, including those who are most vulnerable to abuse. In addition to her trial court work, Rachel is an experienced appellate court litigator.
Before joining O&S in 2020, Rachel was a partner at Outten & Golden PC, a plaintiff-side employment firm based in New York City, with offices in California and Washington, D.C. At Outten & Golden, Rachel was co-head of the firmâs class action practice group.
Rachel is an active member of the employment law bar. She is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association (âNELAâ) and NELAâs California affiliate, the California Employment Lawyers Association (âCELAâ). Rachel is also on the Board of the Restaurant Workersâ Community Foundation, a non-profit created by and for restaurant workers.
Rachel graduated cum laude from Brooklyn Law School and, after graduation, served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Thomas G. Nelson on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
